New CH (or HC...)

If you've been following, I've been making music under the name Hamilton, Charles (pronounced Hamilton Comma Charles; but you could say Hamilton Charles). Produced by The Talented Mr. Hamilton. PLENTY of music. But this is the final album from Hamilton, Charles. And "Stand Tall" is the first single from the album. The album is called "Comma".

Pandilla de Columbine

I noticed that there is very little Hispanic representation in Columbine Gang. Not intentional, but Hispanics tend to stick together and only face persecution when they try to infiltrate the mainstream with their gang talk. Not said to put y'all down. It's just that, the members of Columbine Gang need(ed) better representation in situations where their talent is being abused by people who may or may not be in the streets. Sometimes, folks use "the streets" as a crutch to be a bully.

From who and what I know, bullying isn't approved of in the streets.

Still, I got love for my Hispanic Folk. DJ Muggs, B-Real, Terror Squad, Berner, 6ix9ine... mad love. And they show love to me, too. I think we hold ourselves back from falling in love with each other, which makes us mean mug each other. But I ain't got no hate for my Spanii people.

I still got my eye on you, Ms. Gomez!!!

!llmind and placements.

So I got an email this morning from !llmind (or was it AI-generated...) talking about getting placements in the music business. It was selling an eBook, but I can feel that !llmind was saying that my production is worthy of placements. 

That's been the issue the whole time.

My production would SHINE with a major label artist, but it doesn't stop there. I give direction and have a certain technique when it comes to PRODUCING a record. It's not just the 2-track. And my production has been considered too "supernatural". 

The music business doesn't like things being "too" supernatural. They like weird, they like eccentric, they like funky, but they don't like "too supernatural". 

So I had to use my own songs to show the capabilities of my production.

"I'm trying to build a status with my new production. If I do use other people's stuff, I use 9th, ALC, DJ Green Lantern, DJ Jazzy Jeff or MF DOOM. I started a group with them called Columbine Gang. We function LIKE a street gang, but we are not violent. We encourage people to express themselves over OUR instrumentals. I got Korn, Jim Carrey and Andre 3000 in it, too. And we communicate. Like I said, we got the credentials, and we're in the streets (hood, trailer parks, etc.), but we're not a traditional street gang. And !llmind. He's the newest member. So I'd be using his beats as well. That being said, I like your stuff. Great music to spit to. I just prefer a certain "twang" in my music."

So there it is. You guys got that "twang"! And at this point, I wouldn't be mad if any of you retired. You've put in enough work, have great influence, and continue to inspire in your later years. I haven't thought of a way out of the gang, but if you guys wanna fall back. Let me know.

Pimping DOOM?

I'll be the one to come out and say it. I sense that MF DOOM's legacy is being pimped by many people. As a fact, the same culture that supported MF DOOM supports Supreme. But DOOM wasn't fashion forward. In fact, he was rarely seen. And if you know a thing or two about what he did, seeing him meant BUSINESS. 

Supreme is dropping a line of DOOM wear soon. There's already DOOM clothing being sold on his website, but now there's a brand involved. DOOM was anti-establishment, not to mention anti-brands. 

Now I understand that, as great as DOOM was, he didn't make a ton of money. So his wife and children need the money. But no one knows much about his estate. And, from what I'm seeing, no one cares. NO ONE has made a proper song to a DOOM beat since his passing. Granted people want the instrumentals to live, but DOOM was all about collaboration and checkin' the mic on HIS instrumentals.

Get to know that man THROUGH THE MUSIC before you try to get rich off his legacy.
